Social Worker (Hybrid) - LCSW - LGBTQ+ Health
Vanderbilt University Medical Center invites a licensed clinical social worker to provide psychosocial assessment and brief targeted interventions to the transgender community. The role requires collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, leadership on committees, and commitment to quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Maintains professional documentation meeting department and VUMC compliance standards.
Provides brief targeted interventions and completes psychosocial assessment to assist team with plan of care development.
Delivers education and consultation to clients, families, treatment team, and community.
Participates actively in process improvement initiatives and shared decision‑making.
Represents the Social Work department on institutional and community committees/task forces.
Technical Capabilities
Clinical Counseling (Novice): Demonstrates fundamental proficiency in clinical counseling at moderate difficulty.
Patient Evaluation (Novice): Competently evaluates patients at moderate difficulty.
Patient Assessment (Novice): Conducts patient assessments at moderate difficulty.
Crisis Intervention (Novice): Provides effective crisis intervention at moderate difficulty.
Risk Management (Novice): Applies risk management at moderate difficulty and prepares simple contingency plans.
Position Qualifications
Certification: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LIC) – Tennessee.
Experience: Less than 1 year relevant work experience.
Education: Master’s degree in social work.
