The Martin Luther King Jr. Behavioral Health Center (MLK BHC) is a program of HealthRIGHT 360 and is contracted with the Department of Public Health's Substance Abuse Prevention and Control (SAPC) program. MLK BHC offers residential Drug Medi‑Cal (DMC) services for up to 99 adult individuals, comprising 33 beds each for judicially involved men, men, and women. MLK BHC collaborates closely with other Behavioral Health Center programs to ensure a comprehensive range of services for low‑income and Medi‑Cal‑eligible individuals. The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing general administrative and clerical support to the Residential Tx Program, including electronic health record data entry, word processing, answering phones, checking messages, greeting clients, handling general inquiries, distributing mail, and more. The role requires strict confidentiality and excellent customer service skills, tact and diplomacy. Key Responsibilities
Administrative Responsibilities: Provide office administrative and secretarial support, including electronic health record data entry, word processing, answering telephones, checking messages, greeting clients and visitors with courtesy and respect, handling general inquiries, distributing mail, faxing, copying, etc. Work closely with the Outpatient and other administrative team. Develop, transcribe, and distribute monthly minutes, reports, and/or general information as needed. Facility Responsibilities: Arrange, assist, set up, and attend meetings, trainings, conferences, etc. as required. Maintain general office area and kitchen/IT supplies inventory. Coordinate facility and maintenance issues with the outpatient team. Assist management with reconciliation of data. Data and Compliance Responsibilities: Provide data entry in electronic database systems including client data, billing, and reports. Assist in maintaining confidential files in both physical and electronic forms. Update Prototypes Scheduling Software with new clients and client exits; assist with updating existing Excel documents including group schedules. Run reports in the Welligent EHR system and organize the information into easy‑to‑read Excel documents. Create Excel systems for tracking large projects and implement checks and balances including regular reminders. Manage client attendance and program verification sheets and assist with group and client scheduling. Qualifications
Education, Certification, and Experience – Required: Associate degree in Business Administration or a related field. First Aid Certified within 30 days of employment. CPR Certified within 30 days of employment. Educational and Experience – Desired: Demonstrated administrative and secretarial skills with at least one year of general office work. Experience with electronic health records. Must complete a background check and life‑scan clearance. We will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records. Seniority level
