Job Summary The Administrative Assistant provides administrative, clerical, and customer service support to regional leadership and staff within the Bureau of Indian Affairs Northwest Regional Office. This role supports daily office operations, correspondence management, records tracking, and public interaction in a fast-paced environment while ensuring compliance with established policies and privacy requirements.

$23 - $25 an hour

Key Responsibilities

Provide administrative support to regional directors, managers, and staff

Answer phones, greet visitors, and respond to routine public inquiries

Prepare, type, proofread, and process correspondence, reports, and office documents

Receive, review, route, and track incoming and outgoing mail; serve as primary mail clerk

Maintain correspondence tracking and follow up on action items

Serve as primary timekeeper and coordinate travel requests and related documentation

Maintain accurate records and handle sensitive information in compliance with the Privacy Act

Provide guidance on administrative procedures to clerical staff as needed

Qualifications

Strong organizational, typing, and proofreading skills

Excellent communication and customer service abilities

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Proficiency with standard office software
