The Opportunity This position works out of our Plymouth, MN location in the Electrophysiology division. In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.
What You’ll Work On
Clean and Inspect Tooling: Perform routine cleaning and visual inspection of extrusion dies and components according to company procedures.
Disassemble & Reassemble Tooling: Ensure proper assembly and disassembly of extrusion tooling.
Maintenance & Repair: Conduct preventive maintenance and minor repairs on extrusion tooling; polish dies, melt pumps, cross heads etc.
Condition Monitoring: Identify wear, damage, or defects in tooling and report to Engineering; recommend replacements or enhancements.
Inventory Management: Maintain tooling inventory system, including labeling and tracking.
Collaboration: Work with production supervisors and toolmakers to resolve tooling-related issues and support continuous improvement.
Safety & Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment; follow all safety protocols.
Documentation: Record maintenance activities and tooling condition in logs or CMMS systems.
Order production tooling and supply items.
Contact outside resources when necessary, such as manufacturing engineer, quality engineer or other equipment support services.
Establish an effective working relationship with operators, group lead, and department support.
Read and understand tooling prints, part prints, processes and documentation.
Fill out documentation correctly.
Effectively use quality equipment such as gauges, tooling scope, micrometer, ruler, etc.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience with maintaining extrusion or molding tooling.
Proficient computer experience.
Preferred Qualifications
2-year technical degree preferred.
Medical Device industry experience preferred.

The base pay for this position is $19.35 – $38.75 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
