Position Overview This Part-Time Hatchery Maintenance Technician will start at $27.07 – $36.48/hour, plus a $1.00 shift differential if applicable. Schedule: Saturday & Sunday 6:00 am – 6:00 pm.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitor, maintain, perform PMs and repairs on all automated and electrical controls throughout shift; adjust and repair to maximize equipment efficiency.

Test malfunctioning machinery, diagnose and repair in collaboration with leadership.

Monitor all operating equipment during processing.

Maintain SAP records and proper documentation on all equipment.

Fabricate steel components; repair, modify, and construct equipment and structures as needed, including initiating work orders.

Perform PM, maintenance, and repair to HVAC units.

Perform routine daily checks on equipment; identify improvement opportunities, communicate to leadership, and participate in continuous improvement projects.

Maintain building, office, and grounds at the hatchery.

Continue skill development via Impact training, certifications, etc.

Assist in other project work or departments as assigned.

EXPECTATIONS

Observe & enforce all company personnel, quality, and safety policies.

Maintain a positive work atmosphere by effective communication and cooperation with customers, clients, coworkers, and leadership.

Participate in process improvement and problem solving using continuous improvement and rational thinking methodologies.

Be willing to obtain confined space certification.

Be willing to travel for continued technical training.

Wear a full-face respirator to make repairs in the presence of formaldehyde.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Understand safety and quality standards.

LOTO trained.

Electrical skills (24V, 110V, 240V, 480V); trace circuitry and read electrical schematics.

Experience with motor controls and VFDs.

HVAC skills necessary.

PLC troubleshooting and repair skill preferred.

Knowledge of pneumatic air systems.

Experience in robotics, plumbing, welding stainless steel (plus).

Ability to analyze, evaluate, and resolve complicated maintenance problems.

Ability to operate power tools and machinery.

Ability to work at elevated heights.

Good communication skills.

Work with minimal direct supervision.

3–5 years of previous industrial equipment maintenance experience.

Work in dusty atmosphere with temperature extremes, exposure to chemicals.

Will receive specialized training where needed.

Support and provide coverage on other shift(s) if needed.
