Material Handler – Receiving – 1st Shift
3 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants The Material Handler 1 – Receiving is responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials, tools, equipment, and products while maintaining a clean, neat, safe, and orderly work area. Material Handlers must have the ability to manually move and lift 50 lbs regularly and frequently up to and over 100 lbs. Material handlers must have the ability to work a scheduled shift and follow direction. Responsibilities
Use wireless RF device or desktop computer to perform basic bar‑code functions, including but not limited to receive purchase and transfer orders, print pallet and box labels, put‑away functions, and inventory lookup. Process incoming freight in a timely manner. Manually lift, move, sort and/or place materials or items on racks, shelves, in bins, or on pallets. Inspect products and packaging for damage or error. Repackage or secure loose product. Record quantities and batches of materials or items received. Accurately apply labels to materials and pallets. Complete all paperwork properly. Securely band/wrap material on pallets or in crates. Move materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas. Ensure inventory accuracy of materials or items being checked in and put away. Use a variety of equipment including but not limited to sit‑down forklift, reach truck, order picker, automatic wrapping machine, strapping machine, and pallet jack. Safely and properly load and unload trucks using a sit‑down forklift, pallet jack and manually. Inspect, use, and maintain equipment in good working order. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment. Work in other departments as needed. Meet scheduled attendance requirements; may work long hours when necessary to reach goals. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED. Ability to read and write in English. Strong work ethic. Forklift, reach truck, and order picker certification or willingness to be certified. Basic organizational, mathematical, and computer skills. Knowledge of proper safety measures. Ability to manually move and lift 50 lbs regularly and frequently up to and over 100 lbs. Ability to work at varying heights. Ability to stand frequently as well as walk, sit, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Ability to work independently or with a group. Additional Information
