Shift Technician - Maintenance (Howard)

Night (12‑hour schedule)
Mars Petcare, a leading pet‑food manufacturer, is seeking a Shift Technician to support machinery maintenance and troubleshooting in our Fort Smith plant. The role focuses on mechanical, electrical, and production equipment, ensuring operational reliability and compliance with GMP standards.

Responsibilities:
Adhere to company safety and quality processes and rules.
Systematically repair, adjust, and maintain processing, filling, conveying, and packaging machinery.
Work collaboratively in a team environment.
Participate in continuous improvement teams, new projects, and ongoing training.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in mechanical or electro‑mechanical engineering preferred.
5+ years of experience maintaining mechanical systems on complex process and/or high‑speed production equipment.
Strong troubleshooting, testing, and repair skills for instrumentation, welding, machining, mechanical maintenance, electrical/electronics, AC/DC control systems, servo drives, and test equipment.
Ability to work a 12‑hour night shift and lift up to 50 lbs.
