Shift Leader – Goodwill of Central Iowa
Goodwill of Central Iowa is looking for a
Full‑Time Shift Leader
to assist with operations management and training donated‑goods retail employees while embodying our values of love, kindness, and respect.
Key Responsibilities
Coach and train store employees using in‑person, online, and written processes.
Provide regular performance feedback aligned with Goodwill’s values.
Assign work and monitor progress to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and production goals.
Support the Mission Services round‑up program and promote Goodwill’s mission activities.
Deliver excellent customer service and respond promptly to customer needs.
Assist in sorting, pricing, and rotating donated goods to achieve production and sales goals.
Monitor internal and external appearance standards, including floor care, store cleanliness, and fixture organization.
Open and close the store, handle bank deposits, paperwork, and reporting, and keep the store clean and organized.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
Strong interpersonal skills and effective written and verbal communication.
Ability to operate cash register, computer, wheeled carts, pallet jacks, and potential forklift operation.
Work independently, adapt to change, and maintain accuracy under pressure.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and monitor work.
Basic mathematics and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) proficiency.
Pass a criminal background check and dependent adult and child abuse background check.
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; at least 2 years of related paid employment or military service.
Physical ability to lift, push, pull up to 40 pounds regularly and tolerate variations in temperature.
Flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, and weekends.
Compensation & Benefits
$16.00‑$17.00 per hour base pay with $1.00 per hour shift differential for Saturday and Sunday shifts.
Full benefits package: medical, dental, vision insurance, retirement plan with 5% company match.
Store hours 9 a.m.‑9 p.m. Monday‑Saturday and 12 p.m.‑5 p.m. on Sundays.
15% discount at Goodwill retail stores.
