The Role The incumbent is responsible for providing superior service to both the internal and external customer, and for welcoming and servicing guests of the hotel.
Responsibilities
Perform a friendly, professional, and timely manner check‑in and checkout processes for arrivals and departures.
Assign guest accommodations in accordance with procedures and SOPs, maintain room availability and report any issues to supervision.
Handle assigned bank in accordance with established internal controls, properly post account entries to guest folios.
Maintain knowledge of hotel occupancy status, special events, in‑house groups, and other situations affecting the reception desk’s daily operation.
Process guest payments and accounts upon checkout efficiently, accurately, and in a timely manner.
Able to articulate amenities menu, process guests’ orders and make reservations on behalf of the guest.
Maintain guest folios, ensuring all room charges and credits are recorded in a timely manner.
Bring any problems to the attention of the manager or supervisor on duty.
Must be able to wear a face mask during shift.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Ability to deal effectively and professionally with the public is required. Previous experience with computers is preferred. Excellent oral and written communication is preferred. Typing and computer knowledge is preferred. Regular attendance and ability to work various shifts and overtime when required.
Education And/Or Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience with hotel operating systems is preferred.
Language Skills Must be able to effectively communicate in English.
Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Good money management skills required.
Computer Skills Basic computer and typing experience is preferred.
Reasoning Ability Planning, remembering details, using arithmetic, reading, making decisions, working rapidly, working at various tempos, concentrating amid distractions, remembering names and faces, examining & observing details.
Physical Demands Standing, walking, reaching, hearing, lifting 20 lbs, bending stooping, observing, stretching, turning.
Work Environment Inside, dry, noisy.
