Assistant Data Analyst, Bureau of Early Intervention
Hiring Rate: $74,536.00/Flat Rate
The Early Intervention Program (EIP) is a comprehensive interagency program that supports infants and children with developmental delays. It reduces the likelihood of delays among at‑risk children, empowers families, and provides services to all children regardless of race, ethnicity, or income. The program is legally mandated under Title II‑A, 2552, of Article 25 of the NYS PHL and was recognized as an essential service during COVID‑19.
As an Assistant Data Analyst, you will report to the Assistant Director of the Research and Analysis Unit. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and run routine and ad‑hoc data reports that inform program operations and decision‑making for over 30,000 children each year.
Responsibilities
Learn EIP program operations, the EI‑Hub data management system, and relational table structures.
Write, execute, troubleshoot, and document analyses using SAS and R; develop macros, merge data, and prepare clean tables.
Generate accurate, well‑formatted, and fully documented reports.
Perform quality assurance and data management tasks, including data transfer between systems, compilation from multiple sources, manual cleaning of free‑text fields, and verification of addresses.
Create data visualizations such as slides, dashboards, and maps.
Provide administrative support to the Director of Research and Analysis (paperwork, meeting minutes, onboarding new staff, IRB material preparation, literature reviews, and drafting/editing communications).
Offer ad‑hoc support and coverage for other Data Unit members.
Preferred Skills
Proficiency in SAS for data management and statistical analysis.
Experience with R preferred.
Excellent oral, written, and visual communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and conceptual thinking.
Organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to work independently.
Proven collaboration ability.
Interest and familiarity with the Early Intervention Program.
