Job Summary The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for managing inbound and outbound parts, inventory management, purchase order placement and receiving, and documenting movement in Syteline. Duties include assisting with the day‑to‑day operations for key support staff.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
Accepts and signs for deliveries from suppliers
Assists in unloading shipments from delivery trucks
Opens boxes and examines shipment contents and compares with records such as manifests and packing slips to verify accuracy
Checks shipping documents to ensure all items are accounted for and processes orders through Syteline
Maintains records of all received shipments by scanning MTRs (Material Test Reports) and C of C’s (Certificates of Compliance) into box folders under the proper job
Contacts purchasing or delivery owners to resolve shipment discrepancies and corresponds with establishment representatives to rectify problems such as damages or shortages as instructed
Manages and kits shipments for part requirements to job sites
Coordinates and arranges LTL and small parcel shipments for field service projects and other shipments as required by operations and administration
Uses Syteline to move product from inventory to production and ensures job status is up to date
Uses online shipping information to track deliveries
Performs in a purchasing capacity when required
Resolves shipment delays or problems
Performs administration duties as required
Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition protocol and follows prescribed standard procedures and safety regulations
Reports to work regularly and punctually as required by the working schedule
Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor
Competencies
Knowledge of receiving processes, inventory control, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective distribution of goods
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing and managing files and records
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluating customer satisfaction
Able to work independently and with other teammates in the organization to achieve goals
Able to identify complex problems, review related information to develop and evaluate options, and implement solutions
Skilled in oral and written communication, judgment and decision making, organization and coordination
Education And Experience
Associate’s degree required
Prior shipping/receiving experience preferred
Strong ERP experience; Syteline experience preferred
Strong Microsoft Office skills
License and certification to operate forklift desired
