Make a Difference! Become a Local Coordinator for High School Exchange Students
Education Travel & Culture (ETC) is a non‑profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to enriching the lives of young individuals through transformative cultural exchange programs in the United States and abroad. Join ETC as a Local Coordinator (LC), a part‑time role that enables you to help high‑school exchange students and host families by identifying families, building relationships, and promoting the program within the community.
Qualities We Seek We are looking for self‑motivated, well‑networked individuals who are eager to make a positive impact. Successful local coordinators are enthusiastic about sharing our mission and enjoy building relationships as a part of their daily life.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, recruit, and screen qualified host families using training and marketing materials provided by ETC.
Establish and nurture relationships with potential host families, school administrators, and community influencers.
Engage in person with exchange students, host families, and local high schools, including monthly meetings, group student activities, and periodic orientations.
Represent and promote ETC in the community through social media, email marketing, press releases, local media, and other avenues.
Benefits
Independent contractor position that is family‑friendly, flexible, and complements a busy schedule (10‑20 hours per month); much of the work can be done from home.
Annual performance‑based incentive trips including international travel opportunities.
Potential to grow into a management position.
Experience a new culture while working alongside high‑school exchange students and their host families.
Opportunity to mentor and support students and volunteer families throughout the year and feel fulfilled by the positive impact you are making.
Compensation Up to $1,700 (including student placement and oversight) per full‑year student, with bonuses and travel incentives. Salary range is based on average supplemental income per year; there is no limit on the amount a local coordinator can earn annually.
As an independent contractor, you can earn supplemental income based on successful host family recruitment and student support.
Opportunity to earn various bonuses and incentives throughout the year.
Local coordinators active with ETC for 2+ years can earn additional compensation for recruitment and supervision.
You may qualify for the 5‑7 day ETC annual travel incentive trip; past trip locations include Italy, Cozumel, Maui, Germany, Costa Rica, Spain, Cancun, Japan and more.
Travel Requirement
Live within 75 miles of the listed city.
Have a valid driver’s license and ability to drive for in‑person visits.
Hosting an Exchange Student If you love our mission but the local coordinator role is not the right fit for you at this time, please consider hosting an exchange student. For more information, email support@edutrav.org.
