Store Development Specialist
Dollar Tree Stores – Full time position located at 500 Volvo Parkway, Chesapeake, Virginia 23320. Relocation to the Store Support Center in Chesapeake, VA may be required. 40+ work hours per week with potential non‑traditional hours and up to 10% travel.
Overview The Store Development Specialist coordinates and communicates store and real estate projects, provides reports, and partners with Special Projects and Construction. The role tracks project timelines, manages invoice submittals, schedules closed store operations, and leads projects and field communications aligned with Store Development initiatives.
Project Types New stores, relocations, expansions, renovations, closings, re‑openings, and special projects.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Issue tracking and resolution for open items impacting projects across all project types
Data entry and business partner follow‑up using APEX
Root cause analysis to eliminate or streamline processes improving project activities
Build strong relationships across all lines of business to drive efficiencies on store development projects
Coordinate training of new Store Development Coordinators
Manage team recognition initiatives
Create professional communications to keep field team updated
Schedule and host training meetings for field team
Schedule Store Development Coordinators to projects weekly, ensuring cost‑effective scheduling while maintaining timelines
Provide timely reports regarding status of projects and tasks
Create and implement new procedures, best practices, tools, and efficiencies for new and existing projects
Follow all company policies and procedures
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum three years of experience coordinating processes for a retail chain
General merchandising and field experience required
Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office
Intermediate skill level in Canva
Able to work independently in a demanding, fast‑paced environment with high comfort level and adaptability to change
Demonstrated ability to multi‑task and meet project deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop relationships across all levels
Detail‑oriented
Strong organizational skills; ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to see implications and provide solutions and recommendations
Must be able to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule forms
Office work environment, 40+ work hours per week
Must work non‑traditional hours as needed
Travel 0%‑10% of time
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent relevant work experience
Advanced‑level skills in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Forms
Store operations knowledge base
SharePoint experience
