Forklift Operator – 2nd Shift

Shift:
Monday–Thursday 4:30 pm – 3:00 am (overtime on Fridays as needed)
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand, forklift, hoist or crane.
Load materials into vehicles and secure them with strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
Convey materials from storage or work sites to designated areas.
Secure lifting attachments to materials and guide loads to destination or signal crane/hoist operators.
Count, weigh and record the number of units of materials moved or handled on the daily production sheet or computer while maintaining accurate inventory.
Attach identifying tags or labels to materials and mark information on cases, bales or other containers.
Stack or assemble materials into bundles and band bundles together.
Lift heavy objects by hand or with power hoist; keep work area clean.
Use AS400 system to locate parts, routing, product structure and parts availability.
Assist in receiving parts from vendor and routing trucks.
Assist with cycle counts as needed.
Perform daily inspection and safe operation of forklift.
Operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
Follow Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed personal protective equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned, which require additional qualifications, physical demands or work environment.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Previous forklift operator experience required.
Strong team player able to understand team concepts.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to excel in fast-paced, high-pressure situations and be results-oriented.
Understanding of lean concepts and willingness to implement changes.
Ability to follow Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed PPE.
