Role :
As part of the Rogue Credit Union Team, the Indirect Relationship Manager will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships with indirect dealer partners and prospecting loan growth opportunities within the assigned market territory. This role will be responsible for increasing indirect loan funding and executing business strategies to grow the overall loan portfolio with quality assets. Works with dealers, branch team members and members to support and enhance the credit union's focus on creating member loyalty.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities :
40% Maintains current indirect relationships while demonstrating effective communication with dealers and appropriate internal partners. Achieves key performance objectives and related operations to resolve any funding/Member issues. Identifies and resolves dealer issues presenting excessive risk to the credit union, including but not limited to fraud, buy‑back, dealer agreements violations, dealer personnel, etc. Assists in resolving conflicts and issues that have escalated and makes adjustments going forward to ensure issues do not repeat. Collaborates with management to ensure dealers and vendors are reputable, ethical and an asset to the business operation of the credit union. Conveys/troubleshoots underwriting decisions including declines with dealers.
25% Assists management in tracking dealer metrics and performance, prepares reports for management, and ensures that dealer organizations and indirect product offerings comply with organizational policies, guidelines and standards. Maintains a thorough understanding of the credit union's loan policies and procedures. Maintains a current knowledge of industry trends and changes, including lending, laws, and regulations by proactively working with Rogue Credit Union's Compliance Officer. Completes weekly/monthly reports as assigned by management. Works with the department management team on the reporting and monitoring of dealer's profitability and financial performance. Develops business plans to align with credit union goals and provides quarterly competitive market analysis. Completes quarterly of each qualified dealer.
15% Builds and maintains relationships between the Auto dealers and the credit union. Performs scheduled and "cold call" visits to the auto dealer network and other indirect loan partners to engage business development and face‑to‑face contact with business personnel. Maintains effective communication with dealers and appropriate internal partners. Achieves key performance objectives and related operations to resolve any funding/Member issues. Identifies and resolves dealer issues presenting excessive risk to the credit union, including but not limited to fraud, buy‑back, dealer agreements violations, dealer personnel, etc. Assists in resolving conflicts and issues that have escalated and makes adjustments going forward to ensure issues do not repeat. Collaborates with management to ensure dealers and vendors are reputable, ethical and an asset to the business operation of the credit union. Prospects new dealer and business opportunities within assigned market, and presents dealer applications for indirect partnership to management for consideration. Conveys/troubleshoots underwriting decisions including declines with dealers.
10% Collaborate with the Indirect Lending team in promoting and developing additional indirect lending products and opportunities. Prospect new businesses with potential to contribute to the overall goals of the credit union. Including performing "cold call" visits to engage in product exposure and face‑to‑face networking. Provide support to new indirect partners and work as a collaborative unit with the branch staff to provide an exceptional experience.
5% Provides support for promotions and provides marketing and merchandising materials looking for advertising and branding opportunities. Provides guidance, training, and support to dealers on the credit union's products.
5% Proactively performs other duties as needed or assigned.
Knowledge & Skills :
Experience : Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
Education : (1) A two‑year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job‑specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
Interpersonal Skills : Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
Other Skills : Professional‑level sales skills with the ability to develop rapport. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including diplomacy, are essential, as well as excellent presentation skills to effectively convey information and engage with various audiences. Strong reasoning and negotiation skills, combined with analytical and decision‑making abilities, are critical for success in this role. Demonstrates good judgment and a thorough knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines affecting lending. Effective time management and organizational skills are required, along with the ability to work independently. Strong resourcefulness and problem‑resolution skills are necessary for navigating complex challenges. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is essential, including the ability to develop spreadsheets, reports, and presentations to support business objectives.
Physical Requirements : Some adjusting or moving objects up to 30 pounds in all directions. Must be able to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods. Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers while using computer. Communicating with others to exchange information. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and make fine discernments in sound. Close and continuous visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading.
Work Environment : This position requires up to 25% travel within the assigned territory (neighboring counties within a 200 mile radius). Territories may adjust with credit union growth. Travel to all credit union regions may be required. Overnight travel may be required. Some weekend or evening work for dealer sales and promotions may be necessary. As a direct representative of the credit union, the employee must conduct and present themselves courteously and professionally. Exposed to potentially hazardous conditions, i.e., robbery.
