Position Highlights

Full-time Monday-Friday schedule

Clinic hours: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Upon completion of onboarding and training, four 10-hour days may be available.

Primary sites: South Clinical Campus (Albany) and Niskayuna

Average 18-20 patients per day once fully trained

The Department of Urology at Albany Medical College is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our busy and collaborative general urology practice. This position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive outpatient urologic care in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with a wide range of general urologic conditions

See both scheduled patients and same-day urgent add-ons for concerns such as hematuria, urinary tract infections, elevated PSA, and kidney stones

Perform in-office procedures, including testosterone and Eligard injections

Conduct patient education, follow-up visits, and medication management

Collaborate closely with attending urologists, nursing staff, and administrative support staff to ensure high-quality patient care

Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including imaging and laboratory studies

Document patient encounters and treatment plans accurately in the electronic health record

Participate in quality improvement and practice efficiency initiatives

Qualifications

License and active registration as a registered nurse/nurse practitioner or physician assistant in New York State

Master's Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program

Familiarity working in electronic medical records. Epic experience a plus.

Collaborate effectively across various departments to ensure cohesive, patient-centered care and a positive work environment.

Maintain HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
