ASSISTANT OPERATOR II

What You’ll Do
Assist the Sanding Operator in operating the sanding line and performing material handling duties.
Accurately and efficiently operate 120 and 550 forklift operators in sanding operations.
Coordinate the activities of forklift operators and assist them to ensure proper material processing.
Coordinate product changeovers and identify material leaving the machinery, labeling it accordingly.
Perform quality checks in accordance with customer specifications.
Package finished pallets of material for shipment and assist with cleaning the finishing areas.
Assist the Sanding Operator and other personnel in repairing or maintaining machinery.
Communicate problems or ideas to the Sanding Team Leader.
Observe safe work practices in compliance with the Company safety policy.
Attend any job‑related training deemed necessary by supervision.
Follow all established standard operating procedures and perform general housekeeping duties as necessary.
Perform other tasks assigned by management.
What You Have
High school diploma or GED equivalency required.
Forklift experience preferred; the ability to obtain Forklift Certification is required.
Read, write, and perform basic math calculations (addition and subtraction).
Successful completion of all required on‑the‑job training.
Successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training.
What You’re Good At
Effective team member with strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and perform general housekeeping duties.
Must be able to sit and drive a forklift and wear hearing protection, eye protection, and steel‑toe shoes.
Good oral and written communication skills to interact effectively with others in the immediate work unit.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
