Position Summary We are seeking a highly skilled
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
with deep experience in
financial services and investment accounting
to join our in-house finance team. This role supports
financial reporting, investment accounting, SEC reporting, FP&A, and general bookkeeping functions
within a regulated financial services environment. The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting expertise, experience with investment products, and the ability to operate effectively in a fully in-office, collaborative setting while maintaining accurate day-to-day financial records.
Key Responsibilities
Perform accounting and reporting for
investment portfolios , including equities, fixed income, alternative investments, and other financial instruments
Maintain and reconcile investment accounting records in accordance with
U.S. GAAP
Oversee valuation processes, including coordination with third-party pricing services and fund administrators
Support accounting for complex transactions such as
acquisitions, dispositions, capital calls, and distributions
General Bookkeeping & Daily Accounting
Maintain
general ledger accuracy , including posting journal entries and reviewing account classifications
Perform
monthly bank, cash, and investment reconciliations
Oversee
accounts payable and accounts receivable
processes, including review and approval workflows
Support
expense tracking, accruals, prepaid expenses, and intercompany transactions , as applicable
Ensure timely and accurate month-end and quarter-end close processes
Maintain organized financial records in compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
Prepare and review
monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Support
SEC reporting requirements , including Forms
10-K, 10-Q, 8-K , and related disclosures, as applicable
Assist with
footnote disclosures, MD&A support schedules, and financial statement tie-outs
Coordinate with external auditors during
quarterly reviews and annual audits
Support
financial planning and analysis (FP&A)
activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Develop financial models to support
investment performance analysis, strategic initiatives, and management reporting
Partner with business and investment teams to provide
financial insights and decision support
Regulatory & Compliance Environment
Ensure compliance with applicable
financial services regulatory requirements , internal controls, and accounting policies
Support
SOX controls , documentation, and testing, as applicable
Assist with
regulatory examinations and information requests
Stay current on
accounting standard and regulatory developments
impacting financial services and investment accounting
Tax & Specialized Accounting Support
Apply
Enrolled Agent (EA)
expertise, as applicable, to support tax reporting, analysis, and coordination with tax advisors
Assist with
partnership, investment entity, or financial institution tax considerations
Support cross-functional initiatives involving
tax, legal, compliance, and operations teams
Systems, Tools & Process Improvement
Utilize and support
investment accounting tools and financial systems , including portfolio accounting platforms, ERP systems, and reporting tools
Identify opportunities to improve
bookkeeping, accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiency
Maintain accurate documentation of
accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
Required Qualifications
Active CPA certification
(required)
Enrolled Agent (EA)
designation (required or strongly preferred)
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of experience
in financial services, investment accounting, or related accounting roles
Strong knowledge of
U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, investment accounting, and general ledger accounting
Experience working in
regulated financial services environments
Advanced proficiency in
Microsoft Excel
and financial reporting systems
Ability to work
on-site Monday–Friday
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with
SEC reporting
for public companies or registered financial institutions
Background in
asset management, investment advisory, banking, or financial institutions
Familiarity with
investment accounting and bookkeeping software
(portfolio accounting systems, fund accounting platforms, ERPs)
Experience supporting
audits, regulatory exams, and compliance initiatives
Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
