Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU Located at the corner of University and Mill, Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU amplifies Tempe’s revitalized downtown area and brings some of the largest conference and meeting space to the city. The hotel features 330 guest rooms, four dining outlets, a spacious pool deck, retail, and almost 36,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space along with expansive views of the ASU campus and the Tempe cityscape.

Job Description Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU is seeking an organized and energetic Purchasing & Receiving Clerk to join our team. The Purchasing & Receiving Clerk works closely with the Procurement Manager and plays a key role in ensuring an efficient purchasing operation.

Responsibilities

Work closely with all departments to ensure packages are picked up from the dock in a timely manner.

Audit package storeroom daily to identify packages that guests should have picked up.

Receive all courier deliveries, ensuring accuracy and quality.

Log all packages received within one hour of receipt.

Deliver all packages to Sales, Catering, Accounting and Executive Offices.

Fill and deliver all food requisitions for supplies to departments.

Inspect and unpack all merchandise received, and stock/store it.

Strictly adhere to the operating hours of the storerooms.

Check requisitions for proper authorization.

Maintain efficiency within Birchstreet to catch ordering variances, tax variances, and inventory accuracy.

Assist with PO closing and invoice processing.

Assist in the inspection of refrigeration units and report any deviations from set temperatures or deterioration of perishables (record temperature on a daily log).

Be responsible for cleaning all storerooms and coolers/walk‑ins.

Follow and adhere to Omni Hotels operating procedures and local health regulations.

Start a list for out‑of‑stocks/goods and items not received so that follow‑up can be made.

Verify that no requisitions are left open; all requisitions should be completed and closed out.

Perform other functions as required by the Procurement Manager.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required.

Experience working in a hotel purchasing department strongly preferred.

Previous Food & Beverage and/or AP experience is preferred.

Computer proficiency, specifically with Birchstreet and Excel, is preferred.

Requires frequent standing, bending, reaching overhead, and squatting.

Frequent lifting, carrying, and placing objects weighing up to 50 lbs without assistance and 100 lbs with assistance.

This role will work in both the interior and exterior of the hotel, with exposure to extreme heat and cold.

Potential exposure to various hazardous chemicals and cleaners.

Must have the ability to operate a hand truck, lift jack, and dolly.

This position is a full‑time, on‑site position with no work‑from‑home flexibility.
