Tesla . Tesla's Cathode Materials Site Operations Team is hiring a Material Handler that will be responsible for assessing, acquiring, and moving material requirements in support of production processes. This person will be expected to transport materials (Raw, finished goods and scrap) from receiving areas to stores to final point of use using a variety of equipment and methods. Computer system interface (input/output) will also be required.
What you'll do
Assist daily operations of material flow, including receiving, issuing, and organizing materials to support installation and production schedules; maintain inventory accuracy and driving continuous improvements.
Monitor material needs for scheduled orders, track real‑time progress to delivery targets, and adjust manpower as needed.
Review and document inventory counts to ensure accuracy within the warehouse.
Conduct first-level investigations into quality and safety incidents, documenting findings and proposing preventive actions.
Safely operate equipment such as forklifts, tuggers, pallet jacks, and flatbed carts to transport dangerous goods to/from receiving and staging areas; prepare outgoing materials using proper packaging methods.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following 5S protocols and ensuring proper PPE usage.
Collaborate with Warehouse Managers, Lead Material Handlers, and cross‑functional teams to support continuous improvement initiatives in safety, quality, cost, and productivity.
What you'll bring
2+ years experience as a material handler, utilizing sit‑down and stand‑up material-handling equipment.
Proven warehouse 5S skills.
Efficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
WMS experience and shipping clerk experience.
Command of the English language, both written and verbal.
Open to schedule flexibility that will allow for various shifts, including days, nights, or weekends as needed.
Essential Physical Demands
Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods, up to 12 hours a day.
Frequently and repetitively lift, push, and carry up to 50 lbs., including the ability to carry 50 lbs. up and down stairs.
Frequently and repetitively bend, lift, and reach to install vehicle parts.
Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist, and crawl for extended periods.
Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, or other high structures.
Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing.
