Base pay range $16.00/hr - $16.00/hr
Overview The Ground Operations Agent is responsible for the handling of customer baggage, including loading and unloading on and off the aircraft, marshaling in and pushing back the aircraft, operation of ground service equipment (GSE), meeting arriving flights, servicing departing flights, assisting customers with special needs, and supporting customer service agents as needed.
Responsibilities
Load and unload baggage and co‑mail of various weight and dimensions to and from aircraft and applicable airport baggage areas
Operate ground service equipment and heavy motorized machinery such as tugs, tractors, belt loaders, bag carts, push‑back tractors, deicers, etc.
Marshal aircraft to and from gates and push‑back aircraft
Provide proper handling of baggage requiring special care and service aircraft lavatories
Conduct aircraft and commissary security searches as required
Maintain safety by ensuring ramp areas are free of Foreign Object Debris (FOD) and that all equipment is properly maintained
Follow safety regulations, including proper use of equipment and wearing required safety items
Communicate using a two‑way radio and effectively convey both verbal and written instructions
Perform aircraft interior cleaning and stock aircraft and carts with supplies such as inflight magazines and lavatory supplies
Track inventory and perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license
Ability to read, write, and speak English to receive and understand instructions, directives, and interact with customers
High School Diploma or GED (100% education and experience considerations)
Authorization to work in the United States
Pass a criminal background check
Must be highly motivated, positive attitude, and willing to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to work efficiently under time constraints and in extreme weather conditions
Basic computer skills and ability to attend required training
Adherence to dress code policy
Acceptance of trainee status until successful completion of training curriculum
Physical Requirements The role requires the employee to stand, sit, talk, hear, see, reach, stoop, kneel, climb, and use hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment. Lifting and/or carrying up to 100 lbs, and pushing or pulling up to 300 lbs are expected. Work may occur in a 24‑hour shift schedule and requires exposure to heights, small spaces, extreme noise, temperature fluctuations, and confined areas. Personal protective gear may be required and some travel may be necessary.
