Your team is bigger than your department:
UT Health Tyler is the flagship hospital of the system, serving hundreds of thousands annually. Specializing in advanced acute care medicine, our Midtown location boasts a Level 1 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center, the region’s only EMCO program, and a Level III NICU. Our medical staff includes more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.

Responsibilities
Responsible for performing functions as authorized under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
In addition, performs basic nursing tasks to include patient care, reporting patient conditions, circumstances, and maintaining equipment and unit cleanliness.
The nurse extern must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit.
Conditions: May be required to work irregular schedules. Potential exposure to hazard materials/situations to include but not limited to, blood-borne pathogens, ionizing radiation, and communicable diseases.
Qualifications Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent; must be enrolled in an Accredited Nursing Program with an anticipated completion from program within 24 months from date of hire.
In academic good standing in your Accredited Nursing Program REQUIRED.
Medical Technology; Anatomy and Physiology
Must be currently enrolled and in good academic standing in a professional nursing program
BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
