Dyson Wellness Center Graduate Assistant
The Dyson Wellness Center Graduate Assistant assists in creating and delivering health and prevention education programming, leading the Peer Health Educator team, maintaining the DWC’s online presence, and coordinating community outreach initiatives.
Job Responsibilities
Work with DWC staff to develop health and prevention education programming.
Hire, train, manage, and supervise Peer Health Educators.
Manage DWC website and all social media channels.
Collaborate with campus and local community to provide quality programs.
Create publicity and distribute promotional materials.
Organize, coordinate, and implement campus events.
Represent the Dyson Wellness Center in outreach, communicating with prospective students, families, current students, and staff.
Specific Tasks (Hours per Week)
8 hrs: Organizing, coordinating and implementing campus events.
8 hrs: Supervising Peer Health Educators.
3 hrs: Collaboration and work with DWC staff.
1 hr: Website and social media updates.
Contribution to Academic/Career Goals 1. Learn effective communication, professional behavior, listening/comprehension skills, and medical/psychological subject matter. 2. Discern quality of applicants, provide supportive and critical feedback, lead training, and use constructive feedback. 3. Develop strategies to increase audience interest within professional boundaries and improve written communication skills for a target audience. 4. Gain effective written and oral communication skills, share insights, creative thinking, listening skills, and contribute timely. 5. Learn marketing, communication, collaboration, and professionalism skills. 6. Gain organization and effective communication skills and critical problem‑solving. 7. Learn professional presentation while maintaining authenticity.
