Overview KTLA, the #1 station in the nation’s #2 market, is looking for an experienced digital journalist to produce content for KTLA.com. The Digital Content Producer is responsible for writing, reporting and posting news stories on KTLA.com and across multiple social media platforms, including Facebook, X and Instagram.
Responsibilities • Write accurate, concise and clear news stories that prioritize the most important details and are easily readable for our audience.
• Serve as your own copy editor, producing stories and social posts that employ AP Style and are free of typos, grammatical errors and spelling/punctuation mistakes.
• Juggle stories and duties while working closely with the rest of the digital team under intense deadline pressure.
• Prioritize among competing stories that are most important to our audience.
• Integrate digital content with broadcast coverage by working effectively with the assignment desk, show producers and on-air reporters.
• Manage video livestreams and edit and post video clips to KTLA.com and KTLA’s social media channels.
• Adapt to changing technologies and expectations.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a local newsroom, especially on a digital platform or in local television news.
Three years of experience in news and a bachelor’s degree.
Excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written.
Experience with nonlinear video editing, web publishing systems, Photoshop or similar photo editing tools is preferred.
Comfortable with X, Facebook and Instagram, and ability to think creatively about social posts.
Flexible about scheduling, including early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays and last‑minute requests.
Compensation $33/hour + commensurate with skill level and experience.
