Summary Responsible for safely and efficiently operating a tractor‑trailer or box truck to deliver finished product to customers in accordance with state and federal laws.
Schedule Hourly – Full Time. Paid OT. Monday – Friday. 5 pm start time, 10 – 12 hour days.
Essential Functions
Complies with Driver responsibilities as outlined in company DAART program and as required by DOT.
Maintain vehicle in accordance to Elkhart Transportation management policy.
Operate vehicle in a safe and efficient manner complying with company policy and procedures, and applicable state and federal laws.
Support on‑time delivery by transporting loads by established route to proper destination as efficient as possible while observing all traffic laws and safety regulations.
Inspect trailer loads to ensure proper loading processes and verify it is the correct load before leaving the facility.
Verify product count while truck is being loaded.
Obtain correct acknowledgement or signature and date for bill of lading and necessary documentation; return properly completed documentation to Transportation Manager.
Comply with performance measures.
Duties may vary depending on location.
Requirements / Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
CDL A License.
Experience
Prior experience driving large vehicles, such as a box truck or similar.
Demonstrated experience practicing safe driving practices.
Previous experience delivering and handling freight preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to stand, walk and talk or hear.
Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Occasionally required to sit.
Must regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
Noisy environment typically loud.
On the road, employee may encounter traffic or other hazardous driving conditions.
