Shift M-F 8:00am-4:30pm

Overview The Heavy‑Duty Truck Parts Specialist is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and technical expertise in the sale and distribution of parts for heavy‑duty trucks and equipment. This role involves assisting customers (both in‑person and over the phone), identifying and sourcing parts, managing inventory, and ensuring accurate order fulfillment to support repair and maintenance operations.

Key Responsibilities

Greet and assist customers in identifying parts needs for heavy duty trucks, construction equipment, or related machinery. Use catalogs, electronic databases, and technical knowledge to locate and recommend appropriate parts. Process sales transactions, including cash, credit, and account payments, with accuracy. Provide pricing, availability, and delivery information to customers. Coordinate with warehouse staff and suppliers to source parts not in stock. Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with stock replenishment as needed. Handle customer inquiries, returns, and warranty claims efficiently and professionally. Stay updated on industry trends, product specifications, and new equipment models. Collaborate with service technicians to ensure the right parts are provided for repairs.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in automotive or heavy equipment parts is a plus.

Proven experience in parts sales, preferably in the heavy‑duty truck or equipment industry.

Strong knowledge of heavy‑duty truck and equipment components and systems.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Proficiency with inventory management software and parts lookup systems.

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

Physical ability to lift and move parts as required (up to 50 lbs or more).

Preferred Skills

Familiarity with brands such as Detroit, Allison Transmissions, Caterpillar, Cummins, or similar.

Prior experience in a dealership, repair shop, or parts distribution setting.

Work Environment Primarily works at a parts counter in a retail or shop environment. May involve standing for extended periods and occasional work in a warehouse or stockroom.
