However we cannot accept OPT or CPT visas at this time. Description: Our client is looking for a COBOL Mainframe Programmer. This developer position will provide application development and support for related mainframe applications. This developer will work as part of the Department to develop and enhance mainframe applications using technologies such as COBOL and DB2 databases to implement maintenance & enhancement mainframe functionality. Tasks The Cobol Mainframe Programmer will work on high profile mainframe application projects The incumbent will maintain and develop online and batch application programs by reviewing, analyzing, coding, testing and debugging application code. They will develop specifications, diagrams, flowcharts and documentation. Consultant will analyze and develop programs using COBOL, DB2, VSAM, and JCL for the new enhancements. Consultant will implement application changes, enhancements and new applications and provide post implementation support. While this position will typically report to a project leader or manager, there will be an expectation of self-direction. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Excellent oral and written communication skills Team player Skills Required 8+ years - Structured Analysis and Design for an online and batch DB2/IMS/CICS/MVS/Cobol/JCL Mainframe environment using SPUFI, SQL 8 years - Post production support on middle to large mainframe applications 8+ years - Extensive experience in DB2 databases 8 years - Experience in Technical Writing and Documentation 2 years - Familiarity with .NET/C#/SQL Server/API/Visual Studio Bachelor's Degree Preference will be given to applicants with experience working with TANF or large Health and Human Services systems.
