Scientists and engineers at HRL use our quantum software development kit every day to advance our quantum device technology, which includes state-of-the-art developments featured in top scientific journals. The compilers group focuses on building software within our compilation stack, including hardware instruction assemblers and temporal scheduling algorithms, for running complex quantum device programs on specialized control hardware. Essential Duties: As a Software Engineer within the compilers group, you will be a core contributor to our compiler stack, including development of both languages and optimizing compilers. Essential Duties: As a Software Engineer within the compilers group, you will be a core contributor to our compiler stack, including development of both languages and optimizing compilers. Required Skills: Outstanding programming skills, including full cycle software development with Git. Familiarity with Lisp and Python. Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals including compilers, operating systems, data structures, and algorithms. Required Education: Bachelor’s, Masters, or PhD in computer science or mathematics, or equivalent knowledge gained through industry experience. Candidates with different experience levels may be considered for other positions. Special Requirements: US Citizenship. Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security clearance Compensation: The base salary range for this full-time position is $132,765 - $165,983 + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
