Position Overview
LuxView is seeking an experienced and highly organized Dock Manager to oversee dock operations at our manufacturing facility. This role ensures efficient movement of incoming materials and outgoing finished goods, supporting LuxView's commitment to precision, quality, and on-time delivery. The Dock Manager will lead a team of dock associates, maintain a safe and efficient work environment, and collaborate closely with Production, Inventory, and Supply Chain teams to keep operations running smoothly.
Qualifications
- Supervise daily dock operations including freight handling, shipping & receiving, and order fulfillment to ensure timely and accurate processing.
- Coordinate with transportation providers, including 3PL and NVOCC partners, to optimize freight movement and fleet management.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
- Foster a collaborative, safety-first culture aligned with LuxView's values
- Oversee inventory control, warehouse distribution, procurement, and materials management to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Implement process improvements utilizing lean principles and continuous improvement strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
- Manage budgeting, demand planning, production planning, and supply chain analytics to support operational goals.
- Utilize ERP systems such as AS400 and warehouse management systems to track shipments, inventory levels, and operational metrics.
- Lead supervising staff including warehouse supervisors and dispatchers; ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Plan transportation routes and schedules using transportation management systems to maximize efficiency while reducing costs.
- Oversee freight shipping & receiving activities ensuring accuracy in documentation and compliance with regulations.
- Conduct regular reviews of operational procedures to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
Skills
- Extensive experience in warehouse supervision, logistics, or supply chain management with a focus on dock operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1–3 years of experience in warehouse, dock, or logistics operations, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Supervisory or team lead experience.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Self-motivated and adaptable to changing priorities and deadlines
- Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy materials and standing for long periods
- Comfortable operating a combination lift or willing to be trained
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy
- Prior experience in warehouse, logistics, or shipping/receiving preferred
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Self-motivated and adaptable to changing priorities and deadlines
- Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy materials and standing for long periods
- Comfortable operating a combination lift or willing to be trained
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy
- Strong understanding of freight handling, staging for production, and shipping procedures.
- Ability to operate or oversee operation of forklifts, pallet jacks, and related equipment.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability in process improvement methodologies such as lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Expertise in transportation planning, demand planning, production planning, procurement, and inventory control.
- Familiarity with freight forwarding, shipping & receiving processes, and fleet management.
- Excellent leadership skills with experience supervising teams within a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Ability to analyze operational data for decision-making related to supply chain optimization.
- Proficiency in using forklift equipment and understanding warehouse safety standards.
