Responsibilities
Building upon the responsibilities of a BI Developer II, the Dev III role includes the following capabilities and responsibilities:
Mastery of SQL Server and SSRS report development skills. Well-versed in current SQL Server versions. Ability to adapt quickly to new reporting and data visualization tools as they are released.
Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau and PowerBI.
Provide code reviews and mentorship to junior developers.
Assist in shaping the strategy of our BI Operational Reporting team and its goals.
Own the report delivery framework and manage code base modifications.
Review incoming Ad-Hoc and project work for feasibility and initial level of effort (LOE).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact directly with end users both internal and external to InComm.
Deep understanding of data modeling for rapid report generation.
Strong grasp of ETL principles. Experience with SSIS and/or Pentaho ETL tools is preferred.
At least 6 years of hands-on experience with report development (SSRS, PowerBI, Crystal, Tableau).
At least 6 years of coding experience with relational databases, preferably Microsoft SQL Server.
Collaborate with ETL and Capabilities Dev teams to define and develop data marts and semantic data layers for reporting.
Assist in managing and maintaining the report catalog.
Practical experience with source code management tools such as TFS, CVS, or Subversion.
