Amazon Lab126 is an inventive research and development company that designs and engineers high‑profile consumer electronics. Lab126 began in 2004 as a subsidiary of Amazon.com, Inc., originally creating the best‑selling Kindle family of products. Since then, we have produced devices like Fire tablets, Fire TV, Echo, and more. As a System Technical Program Manager, you will work with product management and hardware/software architecture teams to define product from pre‑concept, scope program schedule and cost, build workable architectural plans, support Statements of Work (SOW) and ODM negotiation/selection, address critical technical or business issues, and lead program milestone reviews.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Work with key stakeholders in product management and executive teams to define strategy and requirements.
  • Lead cross‑functional development and execution on new technologies from product definition, design through delivery.
  • Collaborate with the core team (product management, hardware, software, operations, quality) on critical issue root‑cause analysis, solution identification, and implementation within launch timelines.
  • Communicate regularly with senior management on status, risks, and change control.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams.
  • 3–5 years of system design experience in consumer electronics, with in‑depth understanding of hardware system components such as EE, PD, thermal, display, battery, audio, camera, and reliability requirements.
  • Experience managing projects across cross‑functional teams, building sustainable processes, and coordinating release schedules.
  • Bachelor’s degree with a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in technical program/project management in a consumer electronics environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • Creative leader with superior analytical abilities and strong organizational influence.
  • Working knowledge of hardware and software development processes and lifecycle management.
  • Proficient at creating and tracking complex development schedules.
  • Experience managing the introduction of new technologies.
  • Strong system architecture and design experience with deep technical requirement integration.
  • leadership and communication skills.
  • Fluent communication in Chinese.
  • Expertise with program management tools such as Project, Confluence, and JIRA.
  • Proven ability to successfully execute complex cross‑functional end‑to‑end programs.
  • Experience defining projects, collecting requirements, writing detailed functional and test specifications, and coordinating schedules to deploy new feature sets.
  • Experience analyzing cost/benefit of feature selection.
