And that’s where you come in. Description Hitachi Rail Honoluluis looking for an enthusiastic self‑motivated Communication and SCADA Technician to work on our Honolulu Rail Project. As the successful candidate your ideas for continuous improvement and creativity are welcome. The position is based in Pearl City, HI. Accountabilities Perform preventative maintenance on the Communication and SCADA equipment Ensure compliance with all maintenance procedures and instructions including safety, quality, and environmental procedures Plan and perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities to meet service availability requirements Implement and follow up on procedures and rules for service, repair and maintenance of the equipment Oversee the operations and correct functioning of the communications systems and central equipment to meet the performance requirements in the contract Periodically download communication, video and voice log files Analyze log files to troubleshoot any problem or to provide predictive maintenance for the communication system Perform troubleshooting, identification and resolution of system and subsystem issues to support field technicians with fault diagnosis and correction Complete assigned operational, equipment failure, safety and other reports as required Perform routine, preventive and unscheduled maintenance, inspection, adjustments, testing, cleaning and proper maintenance on assigned central communication equipment in accordance with schematics, operations manuals and manufacturer maintenance instructions Ensure that sufficient materials, hand tools and equipment are on hand for maintenance activities Identify early failure trends that may impact fleet availability Liaise and supervise suppliers’ staff who perform work Conduct inspections and accept equipment as required Enter information into the MMIS system Perform related duties as requested by the Manager Role requires flexibility and efficiency, including shift rotation, weekends and holidays typical of major infrastructure projects and transit operations Perform additional job duties as assigned Education/Skills Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or Electronics Engineering Desired Skills/ Knowledge 3 years of experience in preventive maintenance of technical systems Expert knowledge in communications systems Bargaining Unit: IBEW Local 1186 Starting pay: $29.84 per hour Benefits Hitachi Rail employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including competitive pay, medical, dental and vision insurance, short- and long-term disability, life and accident insurance, flexible spending accounts, a retirement savings plan, and paid vacation.
