Optometrist
AEG Vision – Washington, District of Columbia, USA Employment type: Full‑time Base pay range: $155,000.00/yr – $185,000.00/yr (actual pay depends on skills and experience) Job Description
The optometrist will conduct eye exams for Acuity Eyecare group and practice to the full capacity of their license. Responsibilities include: Conducting eye exams and performing vision tests with analysis of results. Establishing long‑term patient relationships through proper care and education. Conducting verbal interviews with patients to determine health and ocular history, medical issues, reasons for visit and visual needs. Instructing, recommending, and advising patients on remediation of ametropias, systemic and ocular disease, and visual needs. Encouraging patient loyalty and promoting the profession of optometry and Acuity Eyecare Group values. Prescribing eyeglasses, contact lenses, and medications. Providing vision therapy or low‑vision rehabilitation as needed. Providing pre‑ and postoperative care for patients undergoing eye surgery. Evaluating patients for diseases such as diabetes and referring to other healthcare providers within proper time frames. Communicating appropriate lens recommendations to opticians and sales staff. Requirements
Doctorate of Optometry from a credentialed institution. Must have passed all optometric state board examinations. Benefits
