PAE is looking for a Fire Protection Engineer to join our team in either our Portland or San Francisco offices.

What You'll Do

Develop foundational knowledge in fire protection system design, modeling, and documentation

Develop proficiency using Revit and AutoCAD as design/drafting tools

Provide task-based support for fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems

Develop an understanding of drawings, specifications, building codes (e.g., NFPA), and fire protection design industry standards

Complete assigned work with instruction from project team members

Assist with construction administration

Perform basic hydraulic calculations for fire sprinkler systems

Perform battery sizing calculations for fire alarm systems

Assist in the layout and design of fire protection systems, including sprinkler, standpipe, and special suppression systems

Contribute to the layout and design of fire alarm systems, including notification appliances, initiating devices, and sequence of operations

May assist in the design layout of plumbing systems, providing task-based support

Revit/AutoCAD

What You Bring

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Fire Protection preferred)

Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) or ability to obtain

Prior internship or cooperative education experience in building systems or fire protection preferred

What We Offer

Hiring Base Salary Range: $68,600-$87,500 annual in Portland, OR

This position is eligible for time and a halfovertime pay

The base salary is one component of PAE's competitive compensation package for employees. We take into consideration a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, internal equity and geographic location in determining exact salary offered. At PAE, roles are eligible for additional rewards, including salary increases and annual bonuses based on individual performance. The above range represents PAE's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
