And it’s not for someone who stays behind the desk. Our client is a global, engineering‑driven organization operating in a highly technical manufacturing and R&D environment. The business runs on operational discipline, safety, and continuous improvement —and HR is expected to operate at the same standard. They are hiring an HR Manager to serve as the primary people leader for a U.S. manufacturing site, partnering closely with plant leadership, union representatives, and regional HR peers. This role sits on the front lines of the business. The Role (What You’ll Actually Do) You’ll act as the senior HR presence on site , supporting leaders who run complex operations with real safety, quality, and delivery pressures. Employee Relations & Labor Serve as the go‑to HR leader for union and non‑union employee relations Partner with plant leadership on investigations, discipline, grievances, and performance issues Interpret and apply collective bargaining agreements and labor policies with confidence Maintain compliance with U.S. (and Canadian, where applicable) labor and employment regulations Business Partnership & Change Partner with Plant Manager and Director/VP‑level leaders on workforce planning, organizational change, and leadership decisions Support operational transformation, Lean initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts Coach leaders through difficult people decisions with clarity and consistency HR Operations & Compliance Own site‑level HR compliance, policies, and processes Ensure alignment with global HR frameworks while adapting to local realities Support audits, reporting, and regulatory requirements without drama or delay Talent & Development Support hiring, onboarding, and internal mobility for manufacturing and technical roles Partner with leaders on succession planning and development for frontline and salaried leaders Reinforce a culture of safety, accountability, and engagement Who This Role Is For You’re likely a fit if you: Have 7+ years of progressive HR experience in a global organization Bring strong employee relations and union experience Understand manufacturing, plant, or technically complex operating environments Are fluent in U.S. labor law and HR compliance (Canada exposure a plus) Can partner credibly with Plant Managers and senior leaders Are comfortable being visible, direct, and decisive on‑site Thrive in environments where operations come first and HR must keep up This is not a role for someone who prefers remote work, light ER exposure, or purely corporate HR. Why This Role Is Worth a Look Real influence at the site leadership table A global organization with strong investment in people, safety, and development Exposure to complex labor, operations, and change work Competitive compensation with bonus opportunity A role where HR credibility is earned — and respected Final Note This is career‑building HR role for someone who wants to be close to the business, close to leadership, and trusted when things get difficult.
