Job Summary An experienced employee relations specialist will provide guidance on policies and procedures, support employee engagement and training, investigate employee issues, and facilitate resolution of employee relations matters. The role requires strong communication skills, experience in an HR Generalist or Employee Relations position, and a bachelor’s degree. Manufacturing experience is a plus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Advises employees and management on interpretation of personnel policies, programs and procedures.
Provides counseling and facilitates resolution of employee relations issues.
Leads investigations on employee issues.
Provides feedback to Compensation Department supporting wage determinations.
Facilitates training (onboarding, HR software, annual compliance).
Supports Benefits team programs (communication, meetings, enrollment support).
Reviews and assists managers with content of annual performance evaluations.
Monitors documents used to evaluate and enhance job performance and workplace behaviors.
Coaches and consults managers to enhance people and performance management skills.
Supports organizational change by seeking and developing ways for teams to be more effective.
Assists with training and regulatory audits as needed.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree required.
7+ years of Human Resources experience in an Employee Relations or Generalist role.
Preferred experience in a 300+ employee manufacturing/assembly environment; medical device manufacturing preferred.
PHR, SPHR or SHRM‑CP certification preferred.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Honesty, integrity, and solid HR principles knowledge.
Excellent listening and communication skills.
Strong business technical writing skills.
Ability to investigate and resolve complex HR issues.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.
Capability to engage with workforce on plant floor and deliver strategic HR value.
Track record managing high volume HR processes.
Experience coaching and counseling across all organization levels.
Analytical mind with creative problem‑solving abilities.
Proficiency in workforce metrics and reporting.
Multi‑tasking in deadline‑oriented environment.
Capacity to embrace change and propose innovative solutions.
Leadership in manufacturing environment.
Technical Skills
High proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Experience with SAP SuccessFactors and/or HR Acuity is a plus.
Reasoning Ability
Problem‑solving and handling sensitive issues.
Crisis management.
Defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions.
Interpreting technical instructions and handling abstract and concrete variables.
Language Skills
Ability to comprehend, verbalize and write language to the required level.
Work Environment
