Information Technology Specialist 2 (Programming) Base pay range: $66,951.00/yr - $85,138.00/yr

Responsibilities

Develop, enhance, and maintain mainframe applications in an IBM z/OS mainframe environment using IBM Enterprise COBOL, CICS, CA‑Easytrieve Plus, JCL, and DB2 SQL.

Support, perform, and document all phases of a system development lifecycle.

Develop functional program designs.

Develop and maintain stored procedures, subroutines, batch and interactive programs.

Code, test, and debug programs.

Gather business requirements and ensure user acceptance.

Provide user support for the assigned applications.

Provide status reports for assignments in a timely manner.

Qualifications

Eligible for Civil Service examination for title 2 (Programming) and must be on the current Civil Service eligible list.

One year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service as an Information Technology Specialist 2 (Programming).

One year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in a title allocated SG‑16 or higher for Section 70.4 transfer.

55b/c eligibility letter; at least one of the following:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or related field with 15 semester credit hours.

Bachelor’s degree in any field plus one year experience in information technology.

60 semester credit hours (15 in computer science) plus one year experience in information technology.

Two years experience in information technology.

Experience with IBM Enterprise COBOL, CICS, CA‑Easytrieve Plus, JCL, and DB2 SQL.
