Job Description The
Senior Mortgage Loan Processor
is responsible for managing complex mortgage loan files, ensuring full compliance with investor, product, and regulatory guidelines. This role serves as a subject matter expert and resource for junior processors, providing guidance and support throughout the loan lifecycle. The Senior Processor maintains proactive communication with borrowers, sales partners, and third-party vendors, and plays a key role in ensuring timely and accurate loan closings. This position requires advanced knowledge of mortgage processing and a strong ability to manage high-volume pipelines with minimal supervision.

How You'll Spend Your Time
You will review loan files before submission or after underwriting to ensure accuracy and compliance with all guidelines.
You will communicate regularly with borrowers and sales partners to provide updates and request required documents.
You will verify all documentation meets regulatory and product‑specific requirements prior to final approval.
You will coordinate with third‑party vendors and resolve discrepancies to prevent delays in the loan process.
You will address escalated issues related to income, assets, credit, and title by collaborating with internal and external parties.
You will manage closing details, perform final quality checks, and respond to audits or post‑closing requests to maintain compliance.
Education & Experience Requirements This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a High School Diploma and 3+ years of directly related experience in mortgage loan processing with a demonstrated ability to manage complex files and mentor others or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in customer service, financial services, or real estate is a plus.
Advanced knowledge of mortgage lending guidelines and regulations (RESPA, Reg B, HMDA, FHA, VA Conventional, FHLMC, FNMA, Bond, Native American, Rural Development, and others as offered)
Strong understanding of mortgage loan underwriting criteria
Strong knowledge of Compliance guidelines
Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
Ability to work independently to manage high‑volume pipelines and prioritize effectively
Proficiency in loan origination systems and document management platforms
Ability to type 50-60 wpm
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
