Mechatronics & Robotics Technician Company: JLL

Location: Houston, TX

Salary: $52,000.00 - $62,000.00

Job Overview As a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician, you will support the Operations Maintenance team in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building. You will install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment, and mentor junior technicians.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities

Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.

Complete preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation.

Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all Material Handling Equipment (MHE) including belts, motors, photo‑eyes, relays, and more.

Maintain a positive working relationship across all the Operations facility.

Track and store department inventory.

Move up to 49 lbs and stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours.

Travel up to 20% of the time.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Ability to work flexible schedules/shifts/areas, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.

2+ years of experience in the repair of material handling equipment.

2+ years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate’s or higher degree from a vocational school or college focusing on Mechanical or Electrical field.

2+ years of experience with automated conveyor systems and controls.

1+ year experience with blueprint and electrical schematic reading.

1+ year knowledge of electrical and electronic principles.

Experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safety standards, OEM, and safety standards.

Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Experience with robotic or electromechanical operation and maintenance.

Ability to troubleshoot basic input and output functions.

Physical Demands

Repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking.

Lifting parts and tools weighing on average 20 pounds, occasionally up to 49 pounds.

Dexterity in eye/hand coordination, foot (pedal), manual (picking, pinching, holding, grasping), and wrist motion.

Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours, and wet or uneven surfaces.

Standing/walking on concrete surfaces for 10+ hour shifts.

Working at heights (as stated previously).

Pushing/pulling wheeled equipment and carts up to 100+ pounds.

Maneuvering awkward or bulky equipment parts.

Working in cramped positions under/behind machinery.
