Supervises the daily activities of production area to ensure that volume, cost, and quality standards are achieved. Coordinates work schedules, staffing requirements, and production sequences to maximize productivity. Identifies problems related to production process and provides production reports to assist process improvement. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members.**Job Description**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:* Implements and enforces safety and good housekeeping standards by utilizing 1+5s principles.* Leads and supports the company’s Quality Management System* Maintains First5 boards and conducts First5 meetings* Trains, develops and evaluates employees* Directs and coordinates the activities of employees engaged in production* Maintains operating expenses by reducing labor and improving production yields* Reads and analyzes charts, work orders, production schedules and other reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production* Maintains and approves employee time records* Coordinates operations and activities within or between departments / cells* Plans and establishes work schedules, assignments and production sequences to meet production goals* Inspects materials, products and production equipment to detect defects or malfunctions* Resolves employee problems and complaints* Meets deadlines* Directs and supports continuous improvement through the use of lean and 6 sigma methodologiesEducation, Experience and Skills:Minimum of an Associate Degree or equivalent experienceMinimum of 3 years as a manufacturing production supervisor preferably in a lean manufacturing environmentProficiency with Microsoft OfficeCustomer focusedAbility to work effectively in a cross functional team environment**Additional Job Details****Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action at Nidec**
