Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) – 2‑Year Contract
Join our dynamic team in Atlanta, GA on a 2‑year contract. The role requires a rotating hybrid schedule (Monday through Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm) and is for local candidates only.
Base Pay Range $49.00/hr – $53.00/hr
Required Skills & Experience
2 to 3 years of experience in Information Technology with expertise in test automation of applications from UI and API layers.
Hands‑on experience in OOP languages such as Java, C# and scripting languages like Python, Perl, Shell, Bash, etc.
API and microservices testing and automation experience.
Knowledge of Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior Driven Development (BDD) with frameworks such as Cucumber or JBehave.
Experience with querying languages such as SQL (preferred), Oracle, MySQL and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., Cassandra, MongoDB).
Experience deploying applications in AWS or OpenShift (Kubernetes).
Hands‑on experience in automating backend REST services, including writing custom functions using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, Karate, Cypress, Ready API, etc.
Experience building test automation frameworks from the ground up using modular frameworks and design patterns such as the Page Object Model.
Experience working in distributed Agile teams using frameworks such as SCRUM, SAFe, XP, etc.
Experience with continuous integration tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI.
Experience with source‑code management tools such as GitLab, GitHub, AWS CodeCommit, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of the travel industry.
Infrastructure automation using Docker and tools like Chef, Puppet, Terraform.
Experience with various AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, CodePipeline, CloudFormation, etc.).
Experience virtualizing services for test automation using tools such as WireMock, Mockito, etc.
Experience with test management and Agile tools such as VersionOne, qTest, etc.
Experience with non‑functional testing (performance, load, stress, security, accessibility, usability).
What You Will Be Doing
Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test software for the product/application.
Define automation strategy and design tools for unit, functional, and performance testing programmatically.
Participate in design and code inspections.
Propose improvements to existing processes and build automated tools, libraries, and utilities to enhance team speed, quality, and efficiency.
Write testing code that exposes defects in production‑level code as well as component‑level and integration defects.
Work with a wide variety of technologies from front‑end UI to back‑end distributed web services.
Own the design and implementation of tests that support end‑to‑end quality of major deliverables, collaborating closely with multiple engineers and teams.
Integrate test and infrastructure automation into the CI/CD pipeline.
Contribute to Agile development teams following 12‑Factor application development principles.
