Associate Respiratory Care Practitioner at Providence St. Mary Medical Center in Apple Valley, CA. This position is on call and will work 12-hour day shifts.

Responsibilities Provides respiratory therapy in all non-critical areas and all adult critical care areas of the hospital as ordered by the Medical Staff of St. Mary Medical Center. Duties include mechanical ventilation (BIPAP), oxygen therapy, limited patient assessments, comprehensive patient assessments (TDP), chest physiotherapy, coughing and breathing exercises, aerosol therapy, CPR, administration of aerosolized medications and therapeutic gases. Draws, analyzes, and interprets blood gases. Performs quality control and maintenance on blood gas and co-oximetry instruments. Exercises independent judgment, makes respiratory care decisions and takes action based on hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Supervises the patient care of Respiratory Care Students and reports appropriately through the chain of command.
Required Qualifications
Graduated from an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program.
California Respiratory Care Practitioner License upon hire.
National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
National Provider ACLS - American Heart Association within 90 days of hire.
National Provider PALS - American Heart Association within 90 days of hire.
Clinical experience in respiratory therapy combined with a background in physiology and pharmacology.
