We are seeking an experienced

Roadway Design Engineer – Project Manager

in our

Cleveland, Ohio

office.

Annual Compensation : $95,000 – $185,000 based on experience, certifications, and regional market standards.

Responsibilities

Responsible for scope, fees, and profitability of individual projects as well as a portfolio of projects.

Act as point person and firm contact with clients while functioning as project manager.

Assist in new sales with clients for which they are managing projects.

Guide and coordinate all internal LJB transportation disciplines, sub‑consultants, and clients.

Have a basic understanding of the other transportation disciplines and what they require.

Manage the nine PMI knowledge areas for each project phase, including:

Project Integration Management

Project Scope Management

Project Time Management

Project Cost Management

Project Quality Management

Project Human Resource Management

Project Communications Management

Project Risk Management

Project Procurement Management

Assist Deputy Operations Manager in maintaining PM best practices.

On larger projects, may or may not be directly involved in the design.

Report employee performance on projects to the Deputy Operations Manager.

Provide information to the Deputy Operations Manager on future projects to aid staffing decisions.

Assist in informal development of other employees.

Essential Credentials

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.

P.E. license required; North Carolina PE preferred. Successful candidates are expected to obtain NC PE within the first year of hire.

Qualifications

At least 10 years of consulting or engineering experience; 5 years of project management experience preferred.

Experience working on DOT design projects required; experience with multiple DOTs is a plus.

Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint or similar CRM and Project Management software preferred.

Experience with MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, and Civil‑3D software preferred.
