Job Summary Required to perform tasks involved in the production, inspection and packing of Altor Solutions’ products and report to the appropriate individual—Quality, Set Up Technician, or Production Supervisor—if products have not met company quality standards. Must follow Altor Solutions’ standards for Safety, Housekeeping, Quality and Production in an efficient and safe manner.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Remove product from conveyor belt and place into drying racks, boxes, or bags.

Pack product into drying racks, boxes, or bags.

Using heavy‑duty tape machines, cut tape and wrap product for storage delivery.

Lifts and removes completed boxes or bags and places on/in designated location, wagon, or pallet.

Receives verbal and written job assignments; reads and complies with product description and packing instructions on the Quality/Production Data sheet.

Completes “Operator Production/Quality Report,” packing report, worksheets and/or “special” customer requirement inspection forms where required.

Performs visual inspections and/or uses measuring devices such as scales, steel rule and calipers to ensure acceptable finished product quality. Notifies supervisor of discrepancies, and records required information on Operator Quality Report.

Inventories tape, labeling, bags, boxes, or drying racks and notifies Material Handler of items needed to get the job done.

Observes machine operation to detect any defects with finished product and notifies Supervisor of any problems.

Complies with company policies and procedures and immediately notifies Supervisor of any production, quality or safety issues or concerns.

Maintains good housekeeping and assures a neat and organized work area at all times.

Notifies Supervisor of need to be away from machine during shift.

May assist with material handling.

May assist others with less experience in position.

Responsible for verifying quality specifications for product.

Pack and inspect product at a rate of up to 60 parts per minute and lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsible for assigned production line to ensure that product is packaged in accordance with established quality and product standards.

May operate production line equipment to inspect, pack and/or count products automatically or manually in accordance with established production standards.

After packing, seal and label each of the packages properly and then move the completed packages for loading onto a pallet.

Enter data properly in ERP.

Start and stop pressing and know where the emergency button is located; understand the lockout/tag‑out policy.

Determine the difference between good prints, print rejects, setup rejects and manufacturer rejects.

Accurately calculate all print and manufacturer rejects to account for all the containers assigned to the production order.

Identify the various foam specifications and how to tell what type they are.

Understand the various box labels and their differences—Box/Case labels, Work‑In‑Process (WIP) labels, reject labels, Partial Carton labels— and where to place them on the box.

Required to wear PPE properly in accordance with company standards.

Keep the area around your workstation clean and free from dirt and debris; may include cleaning assigned areas of the building or pieces of equipment as instructed by supervisor.

Must be able to work assigned shifts, including overtime and after‑hour meetings as needed.

Must be able to communicate with co‑workers and leadership chain about any safety issues, housekeeping issues, quality issues and production issues.

Follow plant‑specified job training guideline.

All other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements / Work Experience

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

3‑6 months of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Must be able to read, write and understand basic math.

Physical Demands Employee must occasionally lift up to 40 pounds and push/pull up to 50 pounds. Required vision includes close vision to read production tags, labels, inspect parts and identify defects. Work includes sitting, standing, walking, using hands and fingers, speaking and hearing. Frequently required to reach, stoop, bend, squat, stretch and twist. Must be able to work in, with and near machinery and use hand tools. Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including hearing protection, safety glasses, steel/composite toe shoes and gloves.

Work Environment Typical manufacturing environment with proximity to other production associates, materials and machinery. Noise level is moderate to high with ear protection required. Exposure to heat, cold and occasional wet or damp conditions.
