The Islamic Society of Orange County (ISOC) is seeking a Fund Development Manager to lead and execute fundraising and development efforts for one of the oldest and largest multi-ethnic, multilingual, and multi-generational Muslim communities in Orange County and the Greater Los Angeles area.

The Fund Development Manager will have operational responsibility for implementing and managing a systematic fundraising process that supports ISOC’s Annual Fund (operational sustainability) and Capital Campaign (construction and expansion initiatives). In close partnership with the Executive Director and Religious Director, the Fund Development Manager will help execute a dynamic and sustainable fundraising model that strengthens ISOC’s financial stability and advances its mission to serve the Muslim community—both now and for generations to come.

Location

: Based in ISOC’s Garden Grove office. The position is in-person only.

Schedule Type

: Full-time. Exempt. Occasional evenings and weekends required

Compensation Range

: $70,000 - $90,000 annually, commensurate with experience

Duties & Responsibilities Campaign Development and Execution

Support the development and execution of fundraising campaigns with clear work plans, themes, and timelines.

Assist in identifying and cultivating target audiences, engaging donors through thoughtful communication and outreach.

Utilize multiple fundraising channels, including social media, phone outreach, telethons, and in-person meetings, to promote campaigns and assess effectiveness.

Track campaign metrics, monitor progress against goals, and contribute to forecasting and reporting.

Recruit, coordinate, and support volunteers and campaign ambassadors.

Manage and support key fundraising initiatives, including:

Annual Fund

Capital Campaign for the new master site plan

Ramadan and special event campaigns

Planned Giving initiatives

Donor Stewardship

Maintain and analyze donor data to identify giving trends and opportunities for increased engagement.

Support proactive outreach to prospective and existing donors through personalized communication strategies.

Help ensure a positive donor experience that encourages retention, repeat giving, and increased contributions.

Assist with donor appreciation efforts by sharing the impact of contributions and reinforcing donor connection to ISOC’s mission.

Maintain accurate records within the nonprofit CRM system, tracking donor interactions, preferences, and giving history.

Support brand‑aligned fundraising communications that reinforce ISOC’s value and distinct role within the Southern California Muslim community.

Assist with grant‑related activities, including research, proposal development, coordination of submissions, and compliance with reporting requirements.

Internal Collaboration

Support the preparation and monitoring of fundraising budgets in collaboration with the executive and relevant staff.

Contribute to fundraising and marketing plans with defined goals, timelines, and performance measures.

Collaborate with Marketing to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with the ISOC brand.

Assist in training staff and volunteers on campaign‑specific fundraising strategies.

Support opportunities for board members to participate in fundraising and donor engagement activities.

External Collaboration

Support the development of partnerships and strategic alliances that advance ISOC’s mission and expand fundraising opportunities.

Accountability and Reporting

Prepare and maintain accurate fundraising reports for review by the Executive Director and leadership.

Support auditable processes to track funds raised and their designated use.

Participate in regular evaluations of fundraising strategies and recommend improvements.

Perform additional related duties as requested.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, marketing, or a related field (advanced degree a plus).

3–5 years of fundraising or development experience within a nonprofit organization.

Demonstrated experience supporting fundraising campaigns and donor engagement efforts.

Familiarity with nonprofit CRM systems for donor management, reporting, and campaign tracking.

Comfort with public speaking and representing the organization in meetings or on camera.

Strong written communication skills with the ability to craft donor‑facing and internal content.

Ability to navigate sensitive conversations, collaborate effectively, and contribute to team‑based outcomes.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Solid grounding in the fundamentals of Islam and an understanding of the American Muslim community and its cultural context.

Understanding of nonprofit fundraising in the United States and have contributed to the planning and execution of successful fundraising programs and campaigns that produce measurable results and sustainable financial support.
