Role Description We’re seeking an experienced financial planner who brings strong judgment, a sense of ownership, and a thoughtful approach to complex planning work. This is a

senior-level role , ideal for someone who enjoys thinking holistically, working independently, and taking responsibility for delivering high-quality planning outcomes.

You should be comfortable navigating complexity, prioritizing what matters most, and contributing meaningful recommendations without needing constant direction. You value doing the work well, communicating clearly, and following through on commitments, while continuing to learn and grow alongside a collaborative team.

Core Responsibilities

Own end-to-end financial planning for high-net-worth clients

Independently identify planning risks, priorities, and tradeoffs

Deliver advanced planning strategies across tax, retirement, investments, and estate considerations

Proactively improve planning workflows while respecting AMG’s planning philosophy

Utilize eMoney (preferred), Redtail CRM, Orion, Teamwork, and other fintech tools

Ensure planning accuracy, scenario modeling, and reporting integrity

This role has a defined pathway to

Director of Planning , earned through demonstrated leadership, sound judgment, and sustained execution excellence.

Qualifications

8+ years of comprehensive financial planning experience , including retirement income planning, Medicare, Roth conversions, RMDs, cash flow, and tax-aware strategies

Significant exposure to high-net-worth or complex client situations

Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise sound planning judgment

Series 65 (or equivalent) required

CFP®, CPA, or advanced tax/estate education strongly preferred

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in complex financial planning

Deep understanding of retirement, estate, and investment coordination

Proficiency with financial planning software ( eMoney required )

Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust with clients and internal partners
