IoT Solutions Architecture Manager (Americas only)
Join Canonical as an IoT Solutions Architecture Manager – a remote, regionally‑focused team leadership role in the Americas, guiding field engineers in presales and professional services activities to deliver secure, connected device solutions.
Responsibilities
Lead and develop a field engineering team from graduate to senior level across presales and professional services.
Serve as a trusted advisor, solving customer problems by promoting Canonical’s technologies.
Work remotely within a single major time zone and coach, mentor, and provide career development feedback.
Identify and measure team health indicators and implement disciplined engineering processes.
Represent the team and product to stakeholders, partners, and customers.
Advocate great engineering and organizational practices, plan and manage progress on agreed goals and projects.
Collaborate with the leadership team on strategy and execution.
Qualifications
Exceptional academic track record at both high school and university level.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
Extensive embedded Linux experience (Yocto or equivalent).
Strong Linux experience, preferably Debian or Ubuntu.
Fluency in at least one of Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust.
Ability to manage a small team.
Experience in customer engagements with professional written and spoken English.
Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, accountability, and a results‑oriented mindset.
Capability to communicate business benefits of technology.
A humble learner and quick study.
Desirable
RTOS experience.
Proficiency in additional programming or human languages.
Previous experience in a remote‑first, diverse, distributed company.
