Spring Mountain Treatment Center is currently seeking a dynamic professional to join our team as a PRN Mental Health Tech (MHT). The MHT is the clinical staff member who interacts with patients daily, demonstrating good communication and observation skills and accurately processing and documenting information. The MHT provides structure and safety to the milieu environment, manages patient behavior effectively, and supports nurses, teachers, activity therapists, and other departments.

Responsibilities

Conduct safety checks and ensure 15‑minute interval supervision as directed.

Interact routinely with patients, observe behaviors and communicate significant observations to nursing staff.

Demonstrate a sense of urgency related to patient safety and provide excellent customer service.

Document timely, accurate and appropriate clinical information in the patient’s medical record.

Ensure the well‑being of patients and provide a positive, supportive and structured environment.

Facilitate patient educational‑rehabilitative groups covering social skills, coping skills, anger management, and independent living skills.

Assist or oversee patients with activities of daily living such as toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, meals, snacks, hydration and changing bed linens.

Obtain patient’s vital signs, height and weight as assigned and document in the patient record.

Perform other duties as assigned or required by this position.

About Spring Mountain Treatment Center Spring Mountain Behavioral Services has provided mental health services to the Las Vegas community since 2001, treating children, teens, adults and seniors with behavioral health or addiction issues. Our 110‑bed facility offers 24‑hour crisis stabilization and individualized treatment for patients aged 5 to 65, along with selective outpatient programs for teens.

Qualifications

Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.

One year of experience in a psychiatric setting/patient care preferred.

Good communication skills: reading, writing, and speaking.

Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and stand for long periods.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Leadership qualities including self‑control, patience, and empathy.

Obtain BLS Basic Life Support certification.

New hires must attend one full week of New Employee Orientation on a day shift schedule.

Must successfully pass background checks, including criminal history, Child Abuse and Neglect Registry, and FBI fingerprint check.
