What You’ll Be Doing

Design, implement, and sustain Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and standards to ensure alignment with both local laws and international benchmarks.

Conduct thorough internal and external HSE audits, identify areas for improvement, and ensure timely implementation of corrective measures.

Manage safety planning and integrate it seamlessly into overall project strategies.

Lead risk assessments, create risk mitigation plans, and oversee their execution throughout the lifecycle of each project.

Promote a proactive safety culture through ongoing training, awareness campaigns, and competency development for all onsite staff.

Offer technical expertise and mentorship to HSE officers and project teams to ensure uniformity in safety practices.

Liaise with contractors, consultants, internal departments, and clients to align safety objectives and ensure smooth implementation.

Supervise proper investigation and reporting of incidents and ensure learnings are applied to prevent recurrence.

Review HSE requirements during tendering and assist in formulating compliance strategies for contract submissions.

Ensure emergency response procedures are well established and regularly tested through drills.

Track and report on HSE performance metrics (KPIs) to senior management and clients on a consistent basis.

Work closely with design and construction teams to integrate HSE principles into engineering and operational planning.

Stay current on UAE HSE laws, as well as global standards such as OSHA, ISO, and ANSI, and apply them to project frameworks.

Represent the organization in client, regulatory, and public engagements concerning HSE issues.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring

A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.

At least 15 years of experience in HSE leadership roles, ideally in major rail or metro infrastructure projects.

Possessing Lead Auditor Certification is a plus.

In‑depth understanding of UAE HSE laws and regulatory frameworks.

Proven ability in conducting risk evaluations, managing hazards, and leading incident investigations.

Experience developing and delivering HSE training for multidisciplinary teams.

Competence in client‑facing roles and stakeholder alignment.

Proficient in managing HSE systems, compliance reviews, and audit processes.

Strong leadership and team management capabilities with excellent problem‑solving skills.

Effective communicator, capable of writing detailed reports, delivering impactful presentations, and liaising with authorities.
