Position Overview Assists the physician in managing diagnostic and interventional procedures by scrubbing and managing the sterile field and by monitoring and reporting hemodynamic data. Performs X‑ray duties, routine or delegated, according to the standards and policies of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab. Receives direction from Cardiologists, Cath Lab Manager, Anesthesia, RN Circulating lab nurse.
Responsibilities
Assist physicians during catheterization procedures.
Scrub and manage the sterile field.
Monitor and report hemodynamic data.
Perform X‑ray duties as routine or delegated.
Maintain sterility and assist other staff as directed.
Education
2 years Cath Lab experience or graduate of a cardiovascular program (required).
Successful completion of the Cardiovascular Science Exam (preferred).
Successful completion of the Cardiovascular Invasive Registry Exam (preferred).
Licenses & Certifications
Current BLS Certification (required).
Current National RCIS Registration (preferred).
ACLS Certification (recommended).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively.
Knowledge of the theories, techniques, and practices of Cath Lab procedures and basic cardiovascular anatomy.
Knowledge of fundamental computer terms, applications software, and desktop PCs.
Ability to open, read, and respond to email.
Ability to manage electronic files.
Comfortable working in a temperature‑controlled environment.
Potential for contact with chemicals, blood‑borne pathogens, and exposure to infectious diseases.
